Children under the age of 8 can enter for free as long as they are accompanied by a paid adult at all times. Please understand that some cosplay might be considered “risqué” by some (but nothing more than you’d typically see at a local swimming pool).

Live Steel of any kind is not allowed. This means no blades, arrows, martial arts weapons, shurikens ETC. Metal armour such as chainmail, scale, and rolled edges can be acceptable. No sharp points or spikes. No Functioning prop guns must have an orange tip. No Functioning projectile weapons will be allowed. This includes air soft, nerf, water pistols, silly string guns etc. For all armour and weapons you must go thru prop check. Do not brandish your weapon in a way that would suggest to someone that it is anything other than dramatic affect Explosives, ammo, and chemicals of any kind including but not limited to, smoke powder, sparklers, and fireworks, are not permitted. Do not bring anything that would annoy another attendee. (I.E Vuvuvela) No guns/projectiles of any kind will be permitted. Do not bring real swords, guns, knives or any other type of authentic weapon. Do not keep bows strung with high-tensile threads. Ensure they are kept loose and are incapable of firing. Put away all props before leaving the convention center to ensure that law enforcement does not mistake it for a real weapon.

Your name, your cosplay name (optional), character’s name, character’s origin. You will also need to indicate if you are entering as Walk-on Only or Individual (Novice, Journeyman, or Masters). Please note if your costume is not made by you or is store-bought, you will want to register as Walk-on Only. Only costumes that have been made by the person wearing the cosplay and is at least 70% handmade can compete for Individual prizes.

I worked at PAX East and sometimes there was a line that took around 45 minutes to get through and other times we let people hang out on the PCs over the allotted time because there was no line. I expect it to be fairly similar at GEXCon, sometimes there might be a crazy line, other times, not so much.

We’re giving everyone 1 hour to play whatever they wish. That means don’t try starting two ranked matches of League of Legends!! What if I’m about to finish when my time is up? We’re all gamers, so we know what is close to being done and what isn’t. If you actually are almost finished, we’ll likely allow you to finish up, however if you started a second match and you’re not close or certain when it’s going to end we will kick you off. What if I want to play for longer? If there is no one waiting, you can start another session.

We’ll have plenty of games loaded onto the PCs. I’m not going to bother typing out a full list because it would take up too much space. When you get onto the PCs feel free to check through the different launchers on the desktop and see what’s installed.

Yes. We don’t have the resources to pull together a massive steam library and special steam accounts for people to specifically play on.
